Terri Schiavo

I've been holding back on sharing my thoughts about this till this poor woman and her husband were at peace. Making such a decision is not an easy one. I was faced with it last autumn with my mother and just over a year ago my friend Paul had to face the possibility of the same with his wife who he lost in 2004. It is not easy watching a love one suffer and drift away. If you believe in a god, than the fate belongs in your gods hands. For me and people who believe they way I do it is the next of kin. It is certainly not the government or a bunch of people with nothing to do but protest. And have you ever noticed that the people who have made a "habit" or "career" of protesting have nothing else to do with their time? And pro-lifers who believe so whole heartedly in the fight for life have no problem with bombing clinics and killing doctors. Even their hypochristian bible contradicts itself with "eye for an eye" and the "turn the other cheek". I' happy for Michael ands Terri Schiavo, but I'm sure his battle is far from over. I would not be surprised if some crazed Christian doesn't kill him. And as far as our government, I find it an atrocity that the Brothers Bush would even get involved, without considering the wishes of her husband whose lawful right it was to end his wife's vegetated state.

As I said, it's even closer to home when actually faced with the decision so I feel I have a right to voice my opinion on the matter.

South Park creators proved again with last nights episode how timely they can be at addressing such a media over blown story in a timely matter. I'm sincerely impressed.

However, the media seems to be getting it's jollies by oversaturating us with the story in their typical fashion.

As for Paul, he's off to Hollywood. We spent 2 days loading his U Haul and getting him ready. It was hard saying goodbye to a guy who has proven himself to be one of my most decent and considerate friends. For some reason the guy was always there for me over the humps I've gone up and down the past few years. And even in his own dilemma he found a few minutes to lend a helping hand to a brother in need. I know he'll be doing big things and all of us here are anxiously awaiting the day when we can say, "I know that guy!". Or as Spicoli says, "I know that dude!".

Good luck man. But I know you don't really need it.
