That Voodoo That You Do

VOODOO ORGANIST.jpg

Friday nights Voodoo Organist show at The EXIT at first seemed doomed. At 11 when the show was slated to begin the attendance at EXIT was all but bare. Josh and I arrived at about 945 in order to chat with Scott Wexton aka The Voodoo Organist an artist who's music I have loved for just over a year now. The heavy rain seemed to put a damper on the event as well but by 1130 the second floor was filling up and Scott went on at midnight which seemed more appropriate and the audience was taken in by the performance, which Rodney referred to as "unique" and Scott seemed to gather a who new fan base. During the song Pitchfork man a personal favorite of mine, Scott dropped my name in a line of the song which cracked me up.

My friend Yvette Lera poured me and Gregs drinks extra-extra strong which was not planned as I did not have any plans to even have one cocktail this evening.

In all the night was a success and fun was had by all attendees. And Scott claimed that it was his best turn out in all the years he's played in Chicago. So I want to thanks all of you who attended for your continued support especially considering the less than desirable weather. It was nice to sweet people really getting into this artist.

Not much rock to speak of from over the weekend. It was pretty damn cold so I stayed inside most of the time. Fish and Afra dropped by for some drinks armed with a couple pies from Little Casers. It was so cold it reminded me of how motherfucking cold it is in outer space. But that was a different time ya understand.

Other than that not much to speak of from here. Voodoo Organist rocks. Check them out www.voodooorganist.com
