There are so many photos from The Glamour Con that it's impossible to load them all into the diary or onto the front page. I think we have captured it for you's. So as soon as I can get someone who has time to create the gallery with thumbnails I ask that if you're interested you please stand by.
We will also be adding a lot of other convention fotos from Troma Thon and the Flashback Weekend if Jon can get them off of his camera. The photos you've seen with Paige will also be added to the gallery at that time.
Thanks to the great KARLTON for all of his tireless effort and dedication. Thanks to my bro JSIN for actually making it to the airport this time, although he missed the original flight. Thanks to all the lovely ladies at the on and to all of my new friends.
And for the last two weekds of shows, to JBTV's staff and to my props, Shena, Messy, and Lupe' aka Lady Snake.
The weather in Chicago is perfect and I have ad sales pumping through my veins. That is my inspiration right now. The sun and the warm air! It's going to be a crazy and extremely busy few months.
These keep rolling in! This batch comes from JSIN with maybe a couple from KARLTON. Stay tuned for a complete gallery and storyline. Please be patient as these may take 30-60 seconds to load. Thank you.

Either Stacy coucln't get enough of us or vice versa!

I suspect there will be over 100 images from JSIN and KARLTON. Here are a few more good ones sent in from JSIN tonight. Now these are what I call PROPS!

Spent the weekend with JSIN and Karlton at Glamour Con and I'm going to allow JSIN to write the text for the thing as it is pretty funny stuff. I am waiting right now for Kalrlton and JSIN to email the photos. Karlton took some amazing shots and was also shooting nudies and more in his room. Made a lot of new friends including one Michael Ilyinsky from Cincinnati who turned out to be a really cool and straight up guy. The MARAZENE boys came out on Saturday to the After dark patty and we got lots of photos with them and some of the centerfolds and Playmates. Did a lot of networking. Met Shannnon Tweed I don't think she was very impressed by us.
Here's a shot from JBTV to hold you over till I get the photos posted. -AZ

This is just a hint of whats to come later today. MK Invades Glamour Con.
Exhausted doen't even begin to describe how I feel right now.
Can't get too much into the weekend festivities quite yet,. But the photos are worth a million word. The fabulous work of Karlton was amazing and we made a lot of new friends.
Cannot wait to post the photos. It was props a plenty. AZ
I feel strangely tired after getting 10 hours of sleep, but I guess that's one of the downsides of over the courser sleep aides. It's been two incredibly slow news days, but we have posted a couple of new letters on the site and I did get a call from Stunt Girl Vol 1 & 2 director Jack The Zipper late yesterday. That was a surprise especially since I hear his film is up for Best Picture at the 2005 AVN AEE next Jan. I've heard it's a safe bet he'll win.
Still getting comments on the JBTV appearance which has now aired twice this week already. One guy on the street, and I'm sorry I cannot recall your/his name, said he enjoyed the show and if the other videos shown on the hour long program were NOT picked by me. Well I guess the answer is obvious, otherwise teh question would not have been asked. Imagine if it was one hour of everything I wanted, people would be selling their souls, doing drugs, having premarital sex and burning all of their radio friendly CD's and tickets stubs.
Oh, Greg Tovar is going to see Gloria Estevan, a week after he saw OzzFest. Now there's a loyal Latino. It's the only excuse I can think of for him.
The funniest show ever is on this weekend. The Republican Convention with the most hilarious comedian famous for his bumbling one liner. GEORGE W!! At least it'll be a break from the Olympics. (Obviously my first time without cable in about 5 years)
I found out that after we left NEO the other night Grego painted men's room stall with Shena #5's red cake and other sweets. I wonder if it was projectile style? Not even close to the fiery pumpkin bomb that lit up the same stall over JSIN's head a few months ago.
I'm gearing up for an exciting weekend with an old fiend who is coming to town. These reunions are few and far between. Which is why I need the rest.

Oh, have you seen our ViXXXens Tali Juliettes official website www.theultravixxxen.com? If no give it a look. She a hot little ViXX whoo LOVES nothng more than having her picture taken. And from what I hear she'll be joining Grego and I next year in Vega$.
Looks like that's all I have on my mind. Now I have to go meet a friend at the airport. Have a great weekend everyone. Don't Drink and Drive, stay awake---stay alive. - AZ
Wed. 8/25
Sat at Estelle's for an hour and then Went over to Shena's with Greg and her and Paige were the only ones there. It was a short walk but was IN THE RAIN and I hate the damned rain. But we were greeted with her wonderful southern hospitality as she had made Jalapeno poppers (home made) cake and muffins. Greg with his super sweet tooth went nuts on the sweets as I popped the poppers like mad. SAVE SOME FOR TONIGHT! Shena's the best and Greg was impressed. As I knew he would be. We weren't even rude or blue the whole time.
For the record nobody has ever offered ANYTHING to Greg and I and it was much appreciated. And I haven't been cooked for since...well.. anyone that matters already knows.
JBTV came on at 11 and it was heavily edited being that Jerry is airing it in two parts. It was cool but nobody told me my hair was fucked up. Well at least I wasn't. My favorite part was where Shena talked about how she met me at a really lame arty she was getting ready to leave, and then we got talking about when I met Iggy and she came in her panties. Then they showed Lust For Life. Only Boo Boo Kitty Fuck could have appreciated that more. Nobdoy likes Iggy more than that girl in Green Tree who is obsessed with Iggy's leathery vein lined-meat pipe.
My props ruled!
Afterwards we hit a couple plaes and Greg the last I saw Greg he was in deep conversation and I ditched him for once.
If all goes as planned I'll be in a music video tonight. I was invited to this one, I hav enothing to do with the production or band wich is why it'll likley go off without a flaw.
Saw Louis Svitek and met Dragon last night. We share a concern for our long lost and my favorite ViXXXen.
Today marked the 11th anniversary of Dwayne Gottel's death. I'll never forget how I felt that day. Annette Langley told me when we were working at BMG Records, and I was in total shock. I'll never forget the time I hung out with him as an aspiring journalist and how he introduced me to real rock n roll backstage blah blah. It was also the forst time I had met Ogre and Cevin Key.
It's feeling quite a bit like August today. Hot and soupy.
Saturday turned out to be pretty weird. After checking out a movie I stopped by some friends house for a big 2 keg party. It turned out to be a big surprise when not only were a lot of my good friends there, but Sinderella Pussie from Thrill Kill Kult and Candy XXX of Bozo Porno Circus were there and we ended up hanging out all night and into the early morning and I mean 9 AM early. I hadn't seen either one of them in a long time. And they both looked GREAT.
The party was a huge and the only thing that would have made it better would have been an appearance by Vera Blue.
Karlton was there and snapped some pretty decent pictures and I have some to share with you. I guess from now on any girls in the photos with me who are not ViXXXens should be affectionately referred to as Props because nobody would ever consider hanging out with me for fun. As a recent email informed me, "Everybody laughs at you behind your back and only talk to you to see what they can get from you and to use you for your connection."
Well, it does look like I just might have a few true friends out there.
My best friend from High School who I haven't seen since graduation called me at 830AM Sunday morning, to FUCK WITH ME, just like he used to back in the day. Old habits die hard. Ever since my recent break up he keeps checking in on me to see if I'm doing okay. Now, that's friendship.
As I await and photos Karlton shot on Saturday night, I received an email from my good friend Dale from Iowa. He had this to say of his lovely wife "You are definitely one of Elizabeth's favorite people and your overboard aversion to political correctness must fascinate her. I wonder why mine doesn't?" And if you knew Elizabeth you'd understand why that is such a compliment. So as shitty as some people get to go out of their way to email insults about my work, life, and lifestyle and to continuously try to bum out this ol jaded boy, it's friends like Dale and his wife that make up for them. Though I often wonder if certain people are so appalled by me, why the hell do they come to this page so often. It both shocks and bewilders me.
I worked on the I LOVE RICH press kit mostly all day. Their new album Year Of The Rich should be finished this week. We just need to get a photo shoot wrapped and then get the album out. If it's released by the end of Sept, it will receive Grammy consideration. And that is NOT a joke. The same goes for the new Ron Marks Subsonic album, which was just finished.
I was supposed to go meet with Jenna Jameson today but I was feeling exhausted from the weekend and too sweaty and tired to even do that, so I took advantage of my condition and spent the day working. Jenna willl have to be put off til AVN.
I guess this was a very un-Rock N Roll entry. But the photos DO rock, you must admit.
Michael and Suzan/Candy XXX
An Alex Zandwich just kidding. Allison and Shena as props.
Drunk?
My favorite Pussie Miss Marcia Ove aka Sinderella Pussie
AND FROM THE MK ARCHIVES!!! For senitimental value. AZ and Sinderella in 2000

Should I re-title this the "Get A Life" Diary?
Return from Minnihaha (Again)
8/13 - 8/15
Friday morning I woke up early and went over to Marcos and Lee's to get all of our camping gear combined and packed for our weekend camping trip in Wisconsin. Marcos was supposed to o be ready to go at noon but was getting reamed at work and didn't get to pick Lee and I up till after 2, which really put us behind. Leaving Chicago afternoons on Friday is hell no matter where you're headed and the later in the day it gets the longer one spends waiting out the traffic. And to make matters worse we had to stop in Arlington Heights to make a store stop for a client of Marcos.
So the food was already purchased which is retrospect isn't really a good idea since it takes up more room in the car.
We also had 2 fifths of Makers Mark, 1 fifth of Jack Daniels, a case of San Lucas and a case of San Lucas Light, a case of Grolsch, A case of Paulener, and a case of Sapporo. By 7 PM we were at our site and setting up. It had been a long drive so we unloaded everything with the help of Makers Mark. We also took with us 5 pounds of skinless chiicken breast, 3 pounds of smoked sausage, 1 pound of cheddarwurst, lots of salsa, corn, taters and other smaller less significant belly-busters.
Kelly brought us some firewood and hung out as we got to know our neighbors. We were in site 68 which sucked only because we were not at C which is the only isolated site at Minnihaha, and there was a massive party already in progress on the river behind us and these guys were ROWDY.
We were up pretty ate but everyone was bright-eyed and ready to go canoeing. Marcos and I went to Albany to pick up more supplies, Lee and I made a ton of food and by 9 AM we were up top ready to hit the cool water and warm sun. Andy went with Lee and Chris (aka Kid Rock) followed in a 3rd canoe. About an hour into the trip Marcos in his ultimate wisdom decided to break my record of no canoe spills and stood up and danced in the boat while we were sitting still against a log in a pretty strong current. The canoe tipped and all of our food and refreshments went down river never to be seen again. Somehow I grabbed what was left of the Jack, but when Marcos tossed it over to the receptor, it shattered and was all gone. The remainder of the 6 hour river ride would be completed with no refreshments whatsoever.
We got back and Kelly's parents made us dinner and then we hang out at the site and the group dwindled as at 130AM it was only Lee and myself playing MINISTRY trying to isolate ourselves from eth big brouhaha that was going on annoyingly and quite obnoxiously behind us.
I was up again before 6AM and waited for anyone else to wake. Marcos got up and we cleaned up the site and packed our gear in record time. We were on the road by 920 and in Beloit to eat at Arby's by 10. I had the chicken salad I've been drooling over since they introduced it a month ago. I wasn't that great and I wish I would have had roast beast.
Sunday afternoon we got back and unpacked. We were tired, bruised, cut and sore all over. I tried to grab a nap but that was impossible and I tried one of those new salads at Quiznos. I do not recommend eating their salads. They suck. The subs are good but the salads have not enough...salad. I should have just tossed that salad.
Paige and Shena wanted to get together but I was too tired and thought I'd get some sleep. I told Jon to give them my regards and I would catch up with them later. I took two sleeping pills at about 630 and put on my AC and TV and went to lala land. At 1030 they came in my door. Shena was gone for two weeks, missed a bunch of fun, (I would have been happy with Florida) and wanted to say hello. It was so hard to wake up, not only from the medicine but because I was fucking exhausted. Anyway, it was good to see her and 2 hours later I was back asleep.
Painted my new office space to match my bedroom today and unpacked my books. Went to Home Depot, Kelsey's for $1 Burger and went through a massive stack of mail.
Then I got a great email from the people at HUSTLER. They saw the photos of me at the Flashback Weekend Convention earlier this month and on Saturday I was wearing a black and red HUSTLER T and on Sunday a HUSTLER tank top. So because of me showing my support they are sending me a bunch of HUSTLER swag. Hope there are more shirts in that batch.

Wednesday night was the first night of the Chicago Underground Film festival now in it's 11th year. Jim Van Bebber was to be the guest of honor and his movie The Manson Family which was tentatively titled Charlie's family for 10 years or so would be making it's debut. Now I am no fan at all in anyway or form of Serial Killers, however I am a massive fan of Van Bebbers films. I've waited to see this thing since I first got a trailer of it back in 1192. I had seen his My Sweet Satan, Chunckblower, Roadkill, Skinny Puppy video and Doper over 100 times. In fact at one time it was standard that any guest of mine would sit and watch these films upon their maiden visit to my home. Leigh Marino, Jeff Brown and I could and still do quote lines from all of his features.
Jim arrived late and completely inebriated. He was a wild man, and a loose cannon and was something of which to behold. And after the movie he took questions, shouted obscenities and insulted a few of his fans. After which he jumped in a cab with me and went to Delilah's, Schuba's and to an after show get together at my place. He left around 4AM and after not getting nearly enough sleep my phone began ringing with calls wondering where Jimbo was and if he was still with me and what time I last saw him etc. It was a trip. And as much as I am a fan of his films and hold them in high regard, I'm not certain that I want to hang out with him in the near future. I've been around every type of hardcore animal and rock star excess and have till this day near seen anything like my friend Jim Van Bebber. The Manson Family was worth the decade long wait and in one of the most detailed and precise films I have ever witnessed, and I'm happy to have seen it as it is meant to be seen, in a theatre.
Thursday 8/19
Stopped into the fest for a minute and hit Liars Club to see I LOVE RICH in a secret "dark" set. Full Throttle lived up to his name and I enjoyed their new songs a lot. The only light was their massive sign lit up behind them. I skipped the rest of the film fest for that night in favor of going to see Kaylani Lei and Sydnee Steele a couple of porn hotties we met in Vega$. We had no problem getting past the front door of Crobar. Saw Daniel Metcalf the publicist and the girls were pretty happy to see us. We chilled for a few and ended up at Crazy Horse where it was more suitable for us. Grego became himself and left me there without letting me know he was leaving. So I was stuck and being that the cab driver refused to get my card I had to go into my place and get cash for him. ANNOYING. The new law states the are required to take plastic . And this is another one of my beefs with cab drivers.
Friday 8/20
Went with Shena down to shoot an episode of JBTV where we met up with Lupe', and Messy who proudly displayed their new ViXXXen shirts. The show went well and it was weird not being what I've been on that show in the past. In fact there was a vibe of love in the room that I haven't felt in my life in a long time. it was one of peace and serenity and when it was over I felt rally good about what we accomplished. She was great in her all American southern bell manner and beauty, Lupe' was sweeter than ever and Messy was the great Messy that I know and love and will sadly miss as she moves to LA next month.
Afterwards on the way over to take them home we stopped at Kelsey's to indulge in their free Friday buffet, where we met Marco's, Johnna, and Paige who could not make the show. I was also a bit bummed Vera could not make it. But she will make up for it today if she joins me for a quiet day in the park.
It's now Saturday morning. The film fest and after show parties run all through the week. There is an air show that will be very loud this weekend and I have what seems like a hundred invites and offers to join up with friends at many different locations. But if Vera comes to town I will opt for the most subdued.
And I bow my head that one year ago today I first went to The Dunes and fought Mount Baldy. I know I will never experience that particular mode in my life again.

Paige the missing link, in her Warholian Splendor. JSIN is blushing. And YES dude, I told her what you said, and she's flattered. HEHEHE
I don't know what happened. Maybe it was because I've lost the most important thing I ever cared about in my life or if old age is catching up to me. But today when we taped the next episode of JBTV it was all hugs, kisses and smiles in the room. The dark decadent, self destructive Zander that has graced this show over the last two years was absent.
It was me, Shena, Lupe', and Messy and it was the BEST display of shameless promotion I've ever participated in. The 3 ladies work the ViXXXen shirts and I was in leather and my HUSTLER shirt. They were all fucking beautiful and gleaming and Lupe' is just the sweetest. Thanks to Jerry, Paul, and my lovely ladies, ViXXXens and groupie alike.
The show debuts on Tuesday night at 11, then replays on Thursday and the following Monday. Details will be posted tomorrow.
I will be at the Chicago Underground Film Festival every night through its finale. Come out and support real art.
Gotta run, terribly busy and late for the show.
XXX - AZ

My videograpoher Jon and I at Shubas photo booth.
Jon, SuZn,Rodney, Paige, Shena, and I went to the 3 Penny for the premier of The Manson Family by one of my long time hero filmmakers Jim Van Bebber last night. It was simply amazing. Jim and I finally met face to face and this guy made me on my worst look like kindergarten. To make a long story short since I'm so overwhelmed with a full schedule this week. Jimbo left my place around 430 AM. Bit no before throwing lil Rachael down and licking her back. We're all laughing about it today.
The Chicago Underground Film Fest continues tonight.
More when I have time.
Especially when your asleep and get waken up by two girls who would not take "I'm sleeping" as a good enough excuse not to barge in.
Been very busy getting caught up with work and my new office today. I will have the updates on the weekend camping trip up tomorrow and it starts something like this: (keep in mind this report bears no exaggeration)
We also had 2 fifths of Makers Mark, 1 fifth of Jack Daniels, a case of San Luca and a case of San Luca Light, a case of Grolsch, A case of Paulener, and a case of Sapporo. By 7 PM we were at our site and setting up. It had been a long drive so we unloaded everything with the help of Makers Mark.
Till tomorrow enjoy these photos of John and I with our new friends Shena and Paige, otherwise forever to be affectionately known as Edie and Nico. Thanks for the pictures ladies.

I woke up at 8:55 AM and my neighbor, sweet little Rachael, all 98 lbs of her was outside my door, and ready to take me to a wonderful Mexican breakfast. Then she hoped me to do my laundry, which was weird cause it's been ages, and ages since a female helped me wit my laundry. I had a 1 PM appointment with my CPA to pick up my tax stuff, and to go see Spiderman 2 again, he hadn't seen it yet. And Rachael offered to finish my wash for me in my absence. And that was awesome.
On the way into the theatre I dropped off a copy of the new MK to the owner of Laurie's Planet Of Sound, and this guy who used to advertise in MK ULTRA was a little taken back by the change in the look. As I was talking a woman came in with her newborn and said " Mr. you dropped this on the sidewalk." It was a $20 bill! I had accidentally dropped it when I was feeing the meter. And that was another good sign it was going to be a good if not great day.
Tom, my CPS (account) and I bonded a few years ago over our mutual admiration of comic books. He's in his mid to late 50's and travels the world to exotic locations, and me, well, I'm no spring chicken, and you all know what I do. Pretty much. So being I already have documented that S2 is likely the greatest movie I'd ever seen, and I mean that, I was amazed by the effect it had on me the second time around.
We men live in the "man box". There are tings were never ALLOWED to do and not supposed to express. But in the middle of the flick to look to my right and see an man some 15 years my senior wiping his tears with a hankcheif, makes me feel a lot better about trying to smear my tears with a single digit thinking nobody sees. The most impressive thing about the entire and I mean entire detail of this film is that it had the exact impact on me in every way that it did before I knew what was going to happen. It's a grave injustice than a film of this magnitude and massive proportions would never be nominated for an Academy Award.
So afterwards, I came home to my new pad and Chris from Invisible Records/ Underground Inc. showed up with a new shipment of MK T's for the new models etc and porn stars for the next 2 covers and centerfolds. And after I went through them Paige called to meet me for dinna and to look over photos which you are about to see. And Paul called to drop off my camera and things from the DVD we're doing for aforementioned Invisible Records/ Underground Inc.
I arrived at Ranalli's and Paige rolled up on her bike wearing a black skirt, and as she chained it up, Paul pulled up to drop off my video camera. NOW THAT IS PERFECT TIMING!
So we went in and had dinna and her is a peek for all of you of Day 1 at the FLASHBACK WEEKEND 2004 in Chicago with AZ and Paige.
ENJOY and talk to you all next week!

Okay, now it's time to talk about Saturday and the weekend.
After waking up from a 2 day, how should I describe it?, HST/Bukowski binge, we all grouped up and went to Record Emporium to see Miss Paige Brubeck sing and play guitar to her original music. To set this up, I must first explain that it was very hot out and the store had no A/C. Marco, on, Lee and myself drove up N. Lincoln and arrived at a bar had one drink each and went over to meet Paige and some folks at the store. It was a small but loyal and respectful group.
We must also understand that Jon has a way of making me laugh to tears no matter what the setting. So we're sitting on the floor of they messy retail record outlet and it's ho and we're all sweating and Paige was just amazing. I was most impressed by her vocals, then her lyrics and then her playing ability. Some of her songs were funny but overall they all seemed to be about personal relationships and experiences.
So as we all watched Jon hands me a 45 RPM record by a band called BUTT GRAVY. Now there is nothing harder to contain than suppressed laughter. This has happened to me in almost every setting including church when I was a teenager. And out of respect for Paige I tried my damnedest to contain my laughter, which only made me sweat harder and tear up like Nancy Kerrigan after she was hit by the bat on her knee back in the 90's. Then Marcos caught a glance of it and that was when the ball started rolling.
With Paige a day before her performance after I gave her the Andy Warhol Pop Box
I'm not sure if Paige caught it and if so she hasn't said anything, but thankfully the set ended soon enough that we could go outside and let the laughter escape like Beavis and Butthead that day that they were forbid to laugh in school.
Sunday was pretty mellow. I went fora long bike ride alone, and Jon bought a pair of tiger stripe bikini underwear and skated up and down Lincoln in broad daylight on a skateboard wearing nothing else but sunglasses and an army helmet. later Zoran and I were hanging out at Kelsey's and Jon skated up and down the strip bring laughter from hoards of onlookers, many who ran into teh street to catch a glance.
Monday morning I decided where I was planning to move and now I'm back MK full freaking time.
So that's it for now. his coming weekend, Friday the 13th of all things, I'm taking a group to Wisconsin to camp and canoe at my all time favorite Camp Sweet Minnihaha. I'm sure it will be one for the books.
Next week is the Chicago Underground Filmm Fest where the long overdue meeting of me and Jim Van Bebber will FINALLY take place.
And later in the month we'll be attending Glamour Con at the Holiday Inn where we went for Flashback Weekend. It's an all star SEXY event and we will be in full MK Mode with JSin, AZ and Jon.
With JSin at Ranallis the day after our Troma Weekend
Also, now that I am situated would like to let everyone know that the site will be updated regularly and we should be adding a lot more photos and ViXXXens in the days to come. Life is abut to get a lot more...ummm interesting to say the least.

HELL OH Fiends!
I just moved some of my junk into my new office and will be back on schedule with regular updates. Just had a GREAT email from Shena Shanell who sound BORED on her vacation in Florida. Thanks for not forgetting me baby.
I'll have a great update HERE tomorrow so hang in there you sickos! Can't wait to tell you all about BUTT GRAVY! It is too funny.
Lots more to rock about. Thanks for dropping in and AZ is BACK and coming you from a BRAND NEW and bad ASS big ASS desk !
Talk to you in le$$ than 12.

Spent Thursday afternoon with my accountant prior top the Double Door show with Acumen Nation and Marazene. It felt good to be back out at a show again, seems like it's been forever. It was the first time I ever saw Marazene and I was VERY impressed. They are a tight outfit and TJ is a helluva front man. I want to try to get them a deal soon. The night ran late and Grego and I ended up at Crazy Horse AGAIN. Why I let him talk me into going there is beyond comprehension. Oh well bad boys having fun.
Went to Ranalli's again and Gina met up with Marcos Jon and I and then we ate at Kelsey's where Paige met me after her figure painting class and I gave her an Andy Warhol Pop Box hat she was eyeballing the week before. I guess it's out of print and I was lucky enough to find one at a rare book store. I think she liked it. We pigged out on wings and pizza and Jon and I got on the train and went downtown to Cals where I LOVE RICH were playing. This was a fucking weird place, very weird and after a few hours I didn't feel comfortable enough to stick around.
This morning I went to the postal service where I there were 28 porno DVD's there for me to pick up. I can only imagine if I fell off my bike or got hit by a car again and they spilled all over the street. I'd look like major perv. I am a good perv of sorts but not that twisted.
More than likely I'll end up at Street Side tonight. It's always a great time over there. And tomorrow is Kickball.
Thanks to everyone who hung out on Thursday. And to my special "dirty" friend. I'll see you again soon. SQUIRT!
HAIL AXEL BRAUN!
The weekend got off to an early start on Thursday night when Jon and I hit Street Side after dropping into Ranallis and NEO. After a few of Julies magical drinks we were whisked away by our two new friends, and beautiful southern belles Shena Shanel Sedgwick and Paige Brubeck who we met a week earlier. We got together at Shena's massive Wicker Park loft where we stayed up all night goofing off and posing for stupid photos as we listened to great tunes and enjoyed jumping back and fourth to Estelle's. Jon stayed behind and Paige and I cabbed out of their back to Lincoln Park.
On Friday it was a great thing when I got my mail. Usually when a box of porn from METRO arrives with posters I give the posters to Greg behind the counter, and I was about to with the one that accompanied the new Kelly Erickson title. But as I opened it I found it was signed, "To Alex Zander XOXOXO Your Jack Daniels Drinking Buddy, Love Kelly Erickson" It blew my mind that all of the thousands of people she met last January that she remembered me. So it made my day BIG TIME. I must have made a good impression on the lady.
We goofed off at Ranaliis for a bit Friday evening as I took calls from Record Labels regarding advertising. We made Frankenstein sounds and laughed maniacally.
Friday night was more of the usual and Matt met me at Street Side and joined us in Lincoln Park for more shenanigans. Gina picked us up in a 1977 Trans AM and took us joy riding from Logan's Square to Lincoln Park. Matt was in full HST mode as he asked Rachael, "Let me ask you a question, do you enjoy oral? " I met another cool cat who lived in Pittsburgh named Chainsaw. I over and over again said I was going to sleep and didn't till about 4.
So I got up early got some grub and prepared to meet Paige for our trip out to the Flashback Weekend Horror and Sci-Fi Convention at the Rosemont Holiday Inn. But before hand I went up to The Alley and purchased a great new Black HUSTLER T with the logo in red. Then I shot up to the red line where, right on time and in a hot black dress my new friend Paige met me and we commuted for an hour to Rosemont where Newbomb picked us up and took us to the show. Now Bob was so cool that he picked us up a $156 hotel room and a 12 pack of Amstel which was only $70 from room service so we wouldn't have to sit at the bar.
I ran into the horror regulars and hung out with Rusty Nails and J Scott of Movieside, and then Messy Stench who introduced Rusty prior to the showing of ACNE. Later on Paige and I chatted with Joe Bob Briggs George Romero, Angela Bettis, Lori Cardille, Joe Pilato, Gary Klar, Antone DiLeo, and we got photos with all of them with us. Lori played the female lead in DAY OF THE DEAD, my favorite of the trilogy due to the amount of anatomically correct gore. I told her how her father Bill Cardille aka Chilly Billy of CHILLER THEATRE fame was a huge influence on me and how I watched him every Saturday night as a kid into the very early morning hours.
I grabbed Gary Klar in the hall and said, "That's okay, cause everyone knows, throwbacks all got big dicks!" One of his lines from DAY... Surprisingly he got a kick out of it and we talked off and on for an extended period of time. After that we weaseled our way downstairs into the VIP room and chatted and got pix with George Romero and I talked with Joe Pilato and he actually asked me if I ever drank at Chiefs in Pittsburgh which to this day is my favorite Steel City watering hole.
I stopped Angela Bettis from the film MAY and got a photo with her. She was so tiny. A little bitty bit of a girl. She was pretty buzzed on wine but very nice.
The last thing we did was at the Drive In and I put Joe Bob Briggs on the horn with J-SIN and when he gave it back, Jason said, "You're killing me." The next day I would do the same with Romero,
We had a lot of fun and I think Paige enjoyed it as much as I did being that all we did was mingle with the stars who were their to meet and greet their fans. As is go t late we split and I was looking forward to the next day which proved to be a true riot in every sense of the phrase.
Jon and I braved the heat and the Brookfield Zoo express in order to get to the Sunday and final day of the event. We got there about 12 noon and immediately needed a refreshment and some grub. It was quite a slow day and we spent most of the time walking around making Frankenstein noises. I stopped by Brinke Stevens table and we caught up. We hadn't seen each other in about 8 years so we had a lot to talk about. She still looks great. Later on we went over to the Embassy Suites and had some Makers and Coke and a huge platter of appetizers and we went back to the hotel grabbed some friends from the show and went into the hotel bar.
At one table it ended up being me, Jon, Rusty Nails, J, Marcos and some other people, then we got with George Romero and his crew and had a bunch of laughs. We were loud and goofy. And it was so much fun, SO MUCH. Then we hooked up with Bill Mosley, Sid Haig, Irwin Keyes who were all in House Of A Thousand Corpses. We grabbed some hilarious photos and made more Frankenstein sounds and the evening ended when I felt brave enough to approach the hottest girl at the bar. She had been sitting in a tight black dress alone and watching us. I talked to her for about 2 minutes, introduced her to George, took her photo with Irwin Keyes and me and within the first five minutes of meeting her she had wrapped her little body around me and stuck her tongue down my throat. Nobody could understand why I didn't stay with her. She was from the east coast and staying at the Holiday and I left with the boys. But that's what I did. Oh well there's always next year.
All I know is I wish that Shena wasn't in Florida and her and Paige could have joined us at this show because the finale was a fucking BLAST. And as we walked out and said our goodbyes to our favorite film makers and stars, George let out a Frankenstein roar that fucking floored us.
There are a lot of photos that will be posted very soon, so be on the look out. PAIGE IF YOU'RE READING THIS, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR PIX TO ME SWEETIE!
