Well here I am back on here for you all.
Luckily for those involved New Years Eve fell on a Friday. It was pretty nice out and I ran some late errands before ending up in Greektown at Athena’s for a late lunch. Angie and I were both hungry and it would be four hours before we’d get to Ranalli’s for an all you can eat buffet and $2 drinks.
Everyone in the place seemed to know Ang and we ordered 3 appetizers and I had a strong Makers and Diet served up by Jesse. The 3 platters we ordered were extremely tasty and some of the most flavorful food I’d never eaten, but am already craving. To our surprise the manager of the place picked up our tab. We hung out there for a little while came back to Logan Square and got ready to head out. First stop was Ranalli’s. Greg was already there by 9 and we hung out for an hour. He went off to do his thing and we went to The Warehouse for their New Years Party. It was already packed around 10 and though Karlton found the place later and we met up with Mike Girek and some others, by 1145 were uncomfortable with all the cigarette smoke, hipsters, bad music and jackasses that we all decided to mosey back to Ranalli’s where it was a little more subdued and a lot more fun.

I tried to eat more but was still stuffed from the Greek food and what little Ranalli’s I had earlier. Being that parking was hell, the building manager allowed Karlton to park in the handicapped lane, which was cool especially that contrary to what some people may think, Karlton is not handicapped, hut he’s handy with a camera. He and Natalie joined us till about 3AM and we spilt and I was about to encounter hell on heels. The drive back up Lincoln passing all of the Trixie and Chad hangouts, the tards were all in the street walking and running into traffic, of ourse loud as usual and just out of control much like the end of a Cubs game. I’ve been all over this great land of ours and for 40 years only see such a spectacle when engulfed in a sea of people who the systems consider the status quo. Yet hard rock, heavy metal and gothic/industrial show never elicit or display such behavior. I hope a lot of these bungholes spent the night in the drunk tank where they belong and deserved to be sodomized by other captives who won’t be walking away from the cells in the near future.
Anyway, this is an argument I’m tiring of and shall soon be marching on.
At one point one pedestrian who I was tiring of all most got the passenger side door of Angie’s Mercedes slapped against his staggering shell. We got back about 330AM and managed to fall asleep by 6 or 630.
New Years Day was lazy. December beat the tar out of me, and I deserved a day or two in which I did nothing but sip swine, watch movies lounge around and prepare for a new year and a fresh start.
2004 was the most horrible year of my life. I lost a lot, and I lost my mother right at the end and felt the onslaught of betrayal and deceit which if anything positive can come from it, opened my eyes.
Tomorrow as I get back into the groove I will calculate the pros and cons of a terrible sting of days with a 12 month period. And as I look back, in many ways it was the most productive year ever as well. Professionally I’ve proved my point, but at a personal expense.
Tomorrow is another day and pretty much the first real day of the new year.
Please stand by. (more New Years Evel photos coming to the galleries very soon.)
