Christian Bale gave a recent UK TV interview and when asked about "Batman" said the following rather cool statement according to Batman On Film: "We are making a film based on a much loved graphic novel. I think to use the term 'comic book" really under values the source material!...[This film] is a cross between Serpico and The French Connection mixed with a really f-ing cool samurai, kung fu movie, and there's like some really strong 70s conspiracy movie vibes in there too! It is definitely not a Batman that you've seen on screen before".
Meanwhile Warner Home Video have announced over at ToonZone details of the first of three volumes containing all 85 episodes of the first two incarnations of "Batman: The Animated Series".
This first four-disc set contains 28 episodes, two featurettes, a Batcave tour, trailers, and commentary by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini & Eric Rodomski. It'll hit shelves July 6th at a RRP of $49.98.
