VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE: THE MUSICAL RITE OF PASSAGE

New Orleans, LA: Voodoo is more than a religion: It has become a conviction, an experience for music lovers to gather together to express the diversity and spirituality of music. Much like the religion, The Voodoo Music Experience is a festival of music worship! Set for Saturday October 16 and Sunday October 17, this sixth annual journey to the swampy, moss-heavy haven called City Park, New Orleans will gather devoted admirers to witness more than 60 artists all in the name of music! Superstars, new and old, cutting edge DJs and indie favorites perform on three stages over two days in a vow of musical freedom.

The Voodoo Music Experience is filled with so much more than just musical sovereignty and spectacle; it’s a celebration! It has been an opportunity for diehard enthusiasts to experience artists like Iggy & The Stooges, Eminem, Stone Temple Pilots, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Marilyn Manson, The White Stripes, Snoop Dogg, The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule, The Chemical Brothers and many more on one bill! With critical acclaim and a knack for booking an assorted combination of cutting edge artists, independent promoter Stephen Rehage has done it again. Today, the six-year-old festival announced their initial line-up with more to follow in the coming weeks.

“The essence of Voodoo is amazing,” adds Rehage. “Many people in the Voodoo culture believe there are no accidents. And it’s no accident that every fall these cultural diehards submerse themselves into the New Orleans underbelly and ignite the diversity of the festival. It’s really something you have to experience.”
