And Along Come The Donnas
As summer temperatures cool off, three young bands are looking to keep things hot. The Von Bondies, Auf Der Maur, and The Donnas will all be touring the U.S. this fall, in various combinations.
The fun starts with a Von Bondies / Auf Der Maur co-headliner, running across the Midwest and East Coast from September 17 through October 1. Then The Von Bondies hook up with The Donnas for the month of November, with stops in theatres across the country.
The Von Bondies had a tumultuous start to the year, thanks to frontman Jason Stollsteimer's much-publicized fight with The White Stripes' Jack White. But as they say, any publicity is good publicity, and the band launched an ambitious spring tour upon the release of its major-label debut, Pawn Shoppe Heart.
Auf Der Maur is currently finishing up its stint with The Cure on the Curiosa festival tour. The band - the solo project of Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins) - released its debut album in May.
The Donnas recently finished recording their follow-up to 2002's Spend The Night. They announced in August that the record is being mixed, but gave no projected release date.
