Though their credentials include having gone through more guitarist than KISS has and as Spinal Tap has drummers, and recorded "The Greatest Rock N Roll Album Of All Time", the true legacy of Rich is now about to begin with the release of "The Year Of The Rich", on Sonic Wave International. No it's not a story of the Dubya Bush era but more of a testament to the vocalist and self-proclaimed "Worlds Greatest Lover" that the band is named for.
Armed with new song titles such as. “If Loving Me is Wrong” (You Don't Wanna' be Right") and "Make Out City", "The Year Of The Rich" is poised to be the biggest return to glam rock since The Darkness, only ILR does it better, has done it longer and makes it a lot more fun than the European platinum selling band.
Formed by vocalist/bassist Rich (just Rich as in Cher and Madonna) and drummer extraordinaire Drew Blood, I Love Rich immediately took to the fans with a sound that was a unique blend of The Ramones, KISS and early 80's Hanoi Rocks. With songs that were catchy as well as kitschy, and an energetic stage show that is more 80's cock-rock than pop punk, ILR gathered a fan base that still follows them today and continues to grow. Since their debut on the scene, the bands music has been raved by press the world over. The band has gone on to open numerous shows for such notable national acts the likes of Nashville Pussy, Night Ranger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Electric Frankenstein, The Quadrajets, The Queers, Cheetah Chrome, Boris the Sprinkler, Sloppy Seonds, The Meatmen, The Murder Junkies, Antiseen and many others
"The Year Of The Rich", is the much anticipated follow up to 2001's "The Greatest Rock N Roll Album Of All Time" which followed the bands 1996's live debut "Live, Wet, Drippin' With Sweat", a 12-song collection supposedly recorded live in Cambodia and rumored to be the biggest selling cassette in that countries history. Upon the release of the album the first leg of the 2-year long "Make Out City Tour" will begin.
In the words of lead singer Rich , "We want to bring our rock everywhere it's wanted and quite frankly; probably to a few places that don't want it".
